SOCIAL DISTORTION - "Can't Hide"

Father, do you love me, do you think that I`m any good?
And mother, you would have been there, if you only could.
And brother, we used to be so close, now we`re so far apart...
And sister there will always be a place for you in my heart

Jesus, god, are you there?
I get the feeling, you don`t care.
There`s a pain deep inside, I can run, but you know I can`t hide.

The house is a mess, I believe I'll go outside for a while
You need a license to drive, but nothing to raise a child
And your alcoholism and fear run deep in my blood
And the welfare lines are always longer at the first of the month

Jesus, god, are you there?
I get the feeling, you don`t care.
There`s a pain deep inside, I can run, but you know I can`t hide.

Social worker came to take us for a ride
My self esteem was low, but I held my head up high ...
And that was the only time, I saw my dear grandmother cry...
`cause as white trash I was born, and well that`s how I`m gonna die.

Jesus, god, are you there?
I get the feeling, you don`t care.
There`s a pain deep inside, I can run, but you know I can`t hide.
