Saturday spent with my best girl.
LUCERO - "My Best Girl"
Well i'm a sucker for some pretty eyes
But they're going home with some other boy tonight
Hell, i guess i'll be fine
'cause there's one girl whose all mine
She's seen it before, she'll see it again
Because those other girls going home with him
And i'll go back to her and she don't mind
She's my best girl
She's got six strings
She knows all about these
Heartbreaking things
And though her eyes might not shine
She's always by my side
Hell, she's all mine
For all night
She's my best girl by far
She's all mine
For all night
And she'll never break my heart
Well she don't care if i come home late
Or if i don't come home for seven long nights
She knows that i'm hers and she knows to wait
She knows those other girls just won't last
She knows i'll always come on back
To her
She's all that i've got
She's my best girl
She's got six strings
She knows all about these
Heartbreaking things
And though her eyes might not shine
She's always by my side
She's all mine
For all night
She's my best girl by far
She's all mine
For all night
The only girl a boy can trust
Is his guitar

Friday. Dinner & a show.
RADIOHEAD - "How To Disappear Completely"
That there
That’s not me
I go
Where I please
I walk through walls
I float down the Liffey
I’m not here
This isn’t happening
I’m not here
I’m not here
In a little while
I’ll be gone
The moment’s already passed
Yeah it’s gone
And I’m not here
This isn’t happening
I’m not here
I’m not here
Strobe lights and blown speakers
Fireworks and hurricanes
I’m not here
This isn’t happening
I’m not here
I’m not here

Clearly any message inscribed on a gas pump is prophetic.
SUNNY DAY REAL ESTATE - "The Prophet"
sun shines on my face
how it's golden design
rain falls in this place
and the fields come alive
days are only rumours we've wasted
we cross the millions
we'll see where we stand
far removed from the womb
will you carry me across the sea?
will you carry me?
we can drink from fountains
and the taste of truth
far removed from the womb
rhythm and mind
don't waste no time
want to let it all out
when the chains fall off
and the walls fall down
when we break the seal
and our hearts pour out
when the frozen ground
comes alive around us
with a scream

ENSIGN - "Direction Of Things To Come"
Now is the time for the kids to take a stand
For what is right in our lives
It's up to you and me
To make a change, move forward
We won't be left behind
This is our life, our time
It's time we set things right
No excuses this time
For what's been said and done
Take control of your life
Just stand your ground
What will they say
When we take up the fight
No more mistakes
It's up to you and I
To ignore the labels, step out side the lies
I know together, together we'll set things right
No excuses this time
For what's been said and done
Take control of your life
Just stand your ground
You and me we can stand up
Go against the grain
This is our life and this is our time
It's time we made a change
You and me we can stand up
Have a say
This is our life and this is our time
It's time we made a change
