These are brand spanking new loggerhead sea turtle hatchlings. Day 1 of the 2010 Environmental & Land Use Law Section Annual Update in Ponte Vedra. We had an evening beach walk at the Guana Tolomato Matanzas National Estuarine Research Reserve. Our guides did a nest check of a nest that had just hatched and found 8 hatchlings still digging out. There is nothing quite as cute as a baby sea turtle learning how to walk. What an honor to see these lil' guys and be reminded of why environmentalism still matters.
